We have expanded options for customizing appraisal reports, allowing for more flexibility in formatting. Adding an option for summarizing a collection was inspired by a request from one of our subscribers, who wanted, in addition to the detailed description of the properties, a summary of properties and their valuation to provide her client a quick overview.

To customize your collection summary page, navigate to Appraisal Settings and the Collection Summary Columns section. Select the attributes you wish to include by checking the boxes (Thumbnail, Artist, Type of Object, Medium, Title, Date, Edition, Dimensions, Valuation). Use the drag handles to arrange the columns in the order you want them to appear.

In your report, if you select thumbnail, artist, title, object type, medium, valuation, the collection summary page appears like this:

Some appraisers handle large collections and prefer not to use the extended or compact collection style in their reports. Instead, they would like a concise summary of the properties and their values. In such cases, the collection summary page is effective. To create a report using the collection summary instead of the extended collection style, navigate to the Library and click on the Layouts tab. Duplicate one of the default layouts, which will then appear in My Layout Gallery. Click on the field to edit, and under the Collection header, remove the Collection and New Page tags, leaving only the Collection Summary tag.

The PDF output of the appraisal report will now include only the collection summary page.
